The carnival season kicks off with the competition of the best "Murgas", a flamboyant and colorful parade of people wearing fantastic costumes and playing of whistles and drums just like in Rio.
Much of the following spectacles revolve around the Carnival Queen who is elected in a sensational grand gala parade and celebrated with "El Entierro de la Sardina" on Ash Wednesday. So, expect several days of street parties, wear your dancing shoes and come and join the fun!! If you miss the carnival period, don't worry.
