Arrecife Costa Teguise Playa Blanca Pto. del Carmen Lanzarote

The three main holiday resorts are Puerto del Carmen, Costa Teguise, and Playa Blanca. Because they are popular tourist destinations, accommodations are on a high standard and a wide range of excellent services are available.

Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote's main tourist resort, offers over 6 km. of golden sandy beaches (from Playa Fariones to Playa Grande to Playa Matagorda) and features a wide range of high quality lodging places.

Costa Teguise, situated just a few kilometers from the capital of the island, is one of the main tourist resorts of Lanzarote. First class hotels, villas and apartments are available, in addition to an excellent selection of shops, bars and restaurants.

Playa Blanca is located on the south of the island and still retains the original atmosphere of a small fishing village. This flourishing but tranquil resort is ideal for family and for people looking for relaxation. From there it is just jump to Fuerteventura. You can take a boat and visit in only 20 minutes the neighbor island of Lanzarote.

Where to Go in Lanzarote

There are endless possibilities for tourism in Lanzarote. If you are going for the first time, here is a suggested itinerary, the best is to rent a car, so you can explore and discover the beauty of this island by your self.

The North tour:

Start from Teguise, proceed to Haria, the &valley of a thousand palms&. Proceed north to Maquez town to see the Corona Volcano. Next stop is Mirador del Rio, a natural vantage point to the vast Atlantic. Ask your driver to take you to Orzola to pop-in the excellent fish restaurants. Then pass by the grottoes of Jameos del Aqua - a must see for every visitor, with its oasis like interior and enchanting lagoons.

Next stop is the Green Caves- Las Cuevas de los Verdes, a long channel with unusual features of colors and textures which were formed by the action of flowing lava on the earth. Then follow the route to Arrieta and Punta Mujeres. Relax and enjoy the fresh catch of the day at the Jardin de Cactus (the last stop). Marvel at over 1500 kinds of cactus plants housed in a stoneamphitheater built by Cesar Manrique.
