BEACHES OF TENERIFE - LOS REALEJOS

The following is a selection of the main beaches in the Municipality of Los Realejos.

Category: natural
Castro is a secluded beach and can only be reached on foot by a dirt path through the cliffs.

Fine black sand with calm waters; 200m long by 31m wide.

Services: recreational area for picnics and barbecues.
El Socorro Top

Zone: North
Long: 350 m
Wide: 30 m
Shore: black sand & stones
Swell: moderate to strong
Category: natural

This is the best and most popular place on the steep coast of Los Realejos, where one can find small black sandy beaches.

El Socorro has black sand mixed with stones; 350m long by 30m.

Waves are moderate to strong which makes it dangerous for swimming, but one of the best places for surfing; international competitions are held here.

Services: danger warnings, 24-hour guards with Red Cross boat, restaurants, showers, toilets, telephones, parking and public transportation.
La Fajana Top
Zone: North
Long: 380 m
Wide: 115 m
Shore: fine black sand
Swell: moderate
Category: natural
One of the many secluded beaches on this craggy coast; difficult access by dirt trails through the cliffs; fine black sand with moderate waves; 380m by 15m wide.

Services: area for picnics, barbecues and recreation.



Los Roques Top

Long: 330 m
Wide: 20 m
Shore: medium grain black sand, gravel & pebbles
Swell: moderate
Category: natural
Found in one of the best spots for skin-diving; although close to a village, it is secluded and can only be reached by dirt road.

Medium grain black sand mixed with gravel and pebbles; moderate waves; 330m long by 20m wide.
