Güímar valley is filled with spectacular ravines and gullies such as Badajoz or Agua.
The little port of Güímar, formerly a loading dock for farm produce and imports, as well as a fishing centre, has been converted over time to a holiday resort.
The economy of the area centres on agriculture carried out in their extensive greenhouses producing excellent wines, ornamental flowers and other crops for export.
The places of most interest are Chinguaro ravine, Pirámides de Güímar Ethnographic Park, Chimisay beach (projected to be a historic site), and Santo Domingo de Soriano Convent (17th Century).
